Which friend or acquaintance most influenced your taste in music?

I have to list at least 3 people here.  My sister used to love Prince and when Purple Rain hit she actually took me to see it. (Mind you it was the only way she could go per my mothers orders but still I have her to thank.)  I saw that and every since Prince has been my absolute favorite entertainer.  There is no better show on Earth than his concerts.  By the way... go scoop Planet Earth if you have not already. You will not be sorry. 

Then I gotta thank my boy "Fave".  I think me and him got on the hip hop tip together listening to Jazzy jeff and the Fresh Prince and making musical parodies like Wierd Al Yankovick.  The exploration led me to become enamored by the likes of Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Whoudini, and the master of the mic  the almighty Rakim!  I can't even feel what these artists are talking about today.  I respect them for doing what they do, but cats like the ones above are why I'm strictly Old Sqool.

Lastly I gotta give a shout out a sweet young lady I use to talk to in middle school.  her name was Olga. (Shut up Fave)  I was hanging with her the first time I ever heard a LeVert song and Gerald went on to be one of the few that garnered almost as much respect from me as the Purple One.  Me and Olga had an on again/ off again relationship but we also discovered Toni Tone Tony together and that was my theme music 8th grade up through High school and again in college when they dropped their last official album as a group. 

this list could go on but really that is an overview of my taste.  I like Maxwell and Deangelo but they are kind of Prince "Lite"  I fell in love with Neo Soul all on my own.  I heard a playlist when I was in a poetry club and have sought out the genre ever since.  PEACE!
